Carers Group

Caring today has formed a carer group, which has been formed for the parents and carers of caring today as well as other local community parents and carers.

 Who is a carer?

A Carer is a person who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because they have a disability or are ill or frail. The care they provide is unpaid. Caring situations may involve looking after someone with:

  • Physical Disabilities
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Mental Health Problems
  • Long term/ Chronic Illness
  • The elderly, frail or forgetful.

Caring can be a very difficult, demanding and all- consuming task, no matter how close you are to the person you care for. Caring can affect your health, making you tired, frustrated, stressed, angry and loaded with guilt, leaving you with no time for yourself.

What the carers group offers?
Carers Group, supports all parents and carers who look after a family member, partner, child or friend, who has a disability learning difficulty or who is terminally ill. We have set up this group to give the parents and carers the opportunity to discuss issues and gain support with other parents and carers.

We are here to help and offer one-to-one support and listen to your worries and concerns.

The carers support group provides you with information regarding the help and support that is available to the carers and parents.

Through the carers support group meetings the Parents and carer’s decided on the type of courses, training and out door activities that they may felt would be beneficial.

Some of the activities that the support group showed interest to be: -
